As most weekends for us, we try to combine some fun and relaxing with the inevitable work and chores that pile up.

Today’s start couldn’t have been better! 40 minutes of swimming in our indoor pool. It’s really great to have an indoor pool in the building we live in. Super convenient!

That was then followed by a walk with Ramzi in Georgetown where we both tried Georgetown Cupcake cupcakes for the first time. There’s usually a line around the block, but today we could (almost) just walk in. We shared a red velvet and a chocolate cupcake. Loved the cream cheese frosting on the red velvet and the rich valrhona chocolate in the chocolate one. Compared to sprinkles… hard to say, no clear winner. The Georgetown cupcakes have a more decent size, probably almost half the size of the giant sprinkles cupcakes, they were also unbelievably moist. In sprinkles’ favor, as I’m not a huge fan of butter cream frosting, I think sprinkles offers more cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.

After indulging in sweets we opted for a healthy salad and wrap lunch at tu-O-tu and a walk back to Arlington in the sunny but cold weather.

Now, time for work and my least favorite of the household chores – ironing!

BBN is already taking over our house. He has a fully loaded closet with washed and folded little clothes. I don’t think we’ll need to buy anything until he’s 9 months!

He’s also taking over the kitchen and hallway. Among wine bottles and handbags we have a beautiful and colorful collection of baby gear. Of the three laundry loads run today, one whole one was his!

BBN, we’re almost ready for you and can’t wait to hold you!

Thanks everyone who have contributed old and new stuff! We can’t wait to dress him in all those cute outfits and use all the gear!

What a great and well-needed vacation! We’ve had such an amazing time with family and friends and some time away from work and all the “musts”.

Favorites from the trip include:

Baby shower! It felt so great to know that there are already so many people that love our baby boy. We got a lot of great things for the baby and we had a wonderful buffet all organized by our moms.

Baby moon! We spent a night in Dana Point at a beautiful resort with a gorgeous view of the pacific. It was a perfect get away and so nice to get some time together after an extremely busy fall for both of us.

Christmas! We celebrated Christmas eve with both sets of parents and other family. Good food, wonderful people, and great times!

Weather! I have to include weather in the list of faves. It’s been gorgeous ca weather – a much needed break from the winter!

Happily ever after

November 18th, 2011 by Kristina

It’s time for this site to have a make-over from wedding site to happily-ever-after site! We’ve only been married 5 months, but so much has happened. We’ve moved, Ramzi finished his degree and got a job, and we’re 5 months pregnant, ha ha why wait?! :)

Part of the reason for the site-make-over, is so that we can share pics of our little one eventually. For now, you’ll have to do with his parents and the ultrasound images.

Photographers wanted

January 23rd, 2011 by Kristina

Because many of our friends are great photographers, we have decided to not hire a photographer for the wedding reception in Sweden. Instead we are putting out a request that you take pictures and select 10-15 of your best ones and send them to us. Not only are we expecting great pictures this way, but we think that you can capture the greatest moments from your perspective much better than a photographer that doesn’t know us and you.

Looking forward to seeing your selected masterpieces!

We’re getting married…

January 6th, 2010 by Kristina

Not exactly breaking news, but I think it’s appropriate to start off the blog with a proposal post.

June 2nd 2009, one day after I started my internship at IBM in NY, and as I’m eating pasta and beans in my apartment / hotel room, I hear a knock on the door. When I look in the peep hole, there’s Ramzi in a suit!!! My heart skips a beat and I’m fumbling with the lock and chain to open, anxious as I can guess what this is about, and as if he would disappear if I don’t open fast enough.

Once the door opens, Ramzi goes down on one knee, presents me the ring and asks me in Swedish if I want to marry him. Aaaww, I always smile when I think about that moment, and I’m smiling now as I’m typing. It was the perfect proposal!

Ramzi’s version of the proposal is a lot longer since he did all the planning. He selected the ring with some help from his brother and one of my friends and I love the ring! He told my parents, his parents, and some other family members. He booked a trip from California to NY without me knowing, managed to fly a whole day without me noticing, and rented a car and drove from Laguardia up to Elmsford. He prepared everything and it was just perfect!
